What if I finish what would happen, what will I do? America is in one war, The middle east is still crap, africa is still poor, Europe is still Jealous . When I go home to where ever that maybe after a few months I will get bored, and I will convince my self how much fun I was having traveling the world, when in reality the facts are it's hard. I'm tired. So then what will I do, I reason the past looks better than it was.

I'm in a boat in a ocean, a rowboat wearing white, the sun is setting, I'm rowing I have a bible next to me. The background looks fake, like a picture. I'm not going anywhere particularly, I have nothing on me no money, no phone but I'm not alone, My best friend is with me we take turns rowing, were not talking. I'm in a wooden rowboat.

Thats my happy place in my mind.

In reality I'm on a bike a trek 520, the front wheel needs some air, my headphones are broke so no music so I can hear all the squeaks of my bike from the front rack missing some screws that keep it on, to the back fender rubbing against my tire cause it is bent. I can hear the 200cc motorcycle whizzing in front and in back of me, I'm on the right side of the road but still they come from all direction. Its hot 90 degrees no shade. Kids are naked, everyone is staring at me t cause I the black girl riding in their village. I think about drinking coke but I shouldn't cause it makes me more thirsty so I settle for hot water. "What's so adventurous about biking in a hot village" I think. The road is going up and down, it's a good road. It's getting late I feel really dirty, I hate being dirty the longest I've been without a shower one day, which is always one day to many. I have the choice of camping outside which doesn't bother me or spend 5 dollars on a guest house, I wanna save money but I wanna take a shower. I pull up to the first guest house I see "How much I ask $5 a little boy says maybe he's 12 years old, the use dollars in cambodia,Alright He helps me bring my bike and bags to the room I take a shower, I'm happy I go across the store buy some instant noodles a coke and some pringles. On my way out I meet a guy he is from Finland, this is not a tourist area so we chat. I ask him what is he doing here He says he traveling through also. His name was angelo,22, he said he was traveling alone, I said me too" Do you want to go to thailand together" he asked I often get invited to travel with others but I always say" I can't I'm on a bike" I try to avoid telling people that cause then I get the same questions, but I guess it was appropriate to mention it then. We hun out all night until 2 am we were staying in the same guest house he was pretty cool, The next day I didn't have to leave I wasn't in a hurry but I left just cause, Angelo bought a crappy bike from a local for 8 dollars and biked with me all day until 6 pm the next day, then he took a bus back to the village where we met. He was really cool. I never get to keep friends I meet, Some times I feel like it's better to not meet cool people cause it some times sucks to leave em.

Thanks sponsors!!

Pops bargain outlet in Turlock!!
They do not have a website so I couldn't put a logo but this store is in my home town of Turlock. I never felt so tired of biking than these last few days. I feel like I'm in africa, there's ox, and wilder beast and goat all around, people hiding in the tree houses looking down at me. I am waking up at 6 and biking till 9pm cause I dont know what to do. I dont know where to sleep or where to eat or if I'm going the right way. I haven't spoke to anyone in a few days I dont even listen to music anymore. My butt hurts which never happens, and I don't think, I'm thinking about anything, at all, ALL DAY. Cambodian people are darker and taller and have rounder heads and eyes from vietnamese and chinese people. They practice a different type of Buddhism where their monks don't fight. There is 15 million people in cambodia and I they seem friendlier than the other asian countries, I had a cambodian banker help me out big time my first day across the border.I really can't take the sun, its bad for my skin and makes me look older and gives you wrinkles, So hat affects my judgement of cambodia. I shot a video to put up here but I'm so tired, I'll do it later.

Riding dirty

Quick update
Vietnam is really muddy the rain burns my eyes, The pollution is very bad. The women work way harder than the men, 7 days a week. Everyone is on a bike so its fairly easy to bike here. I discovered I really don't like asian food there is no flavor no spices to it, they just cook it or boil their food they don't do anything special to it. So I officially declare asian food the worst food on this earth because its boring. Thats why they are so skinny cause they have nothing to look forward to.

Its is very muddy here so every day I am covered in mud, I gave up trying to avoid the splash of riding through puddles. I find my self getting into a daze and and not paying attention to where I am biking I just pedal, I don't sing anymore I rarely take pictures and I don't look both ways I just pedal. I'm bored. I think alot about how I'm going to get back to america, Over 1000$ plane ticket over the pacific I need to start saving for... I just sighed thinking about that....Lately I been eating bread, just bread I don't like noodles, which is the main food, it has no flavor they just cook it in water with some lettuce and eat plain rice noodles its really depressing. My speedometer broke again, so again I am without knowledge of the temperature, my speed and my specific milages.

Camping is hard because all the land is private so people often bother me. I was biking the other day, I was going pretty slow cause I was tired then this 12 year old boy on a bike with maybe an 8 yr old boy on the back, started biking besides me they were just staring at me, I was annoyed by that so I biked faster than he biked faster than We both knew quickly it was a race we both went as fast as we could me loaded with gear, him loaded with human cargo, after 2 minutes I gave up, And said you win you beat me. He was clearly faster than me but I was biking all day.

I don't have anymore water bottles left so I don't drink water anymore I drink like maybe 3 cokes a day but thats enough. There is no facebook in vietnam so I don't do that either. I am 6 months away from the finish line. I don't really know how to feel about that. I am so worried everyday, I'm driving myself crazy. I'm a big talker I talak all the time but since China I neverhave anything say, or anything I want to say. I don't want to tell people I biking around the world, I don't want to convince you America is the best country in the world, I don't even want to eat. Vietnam is crowed, vietnam is muddy, the people are proud they defeated america, france and china many times. They are small, very small. They work and work and work. But I bike and bike and bike.

Out of china into vietnam

So I have left china where I could not blog since blogging is blocked. I am now in Vietnam which is very muddy. I was in china for about 26 days, Went to Hong kong also. I wrote something on my site but I didn't publish it. My thoughts on china are positive, Especially since india SUCKED. I believe communism isn't a bad thing all the time. China has to control a over a billion roads if they had a democracy, they would end up like india-Dirty, dirt poor, careless, law breaking, annoying.
I tried to eat the food of china but I just don't like it, it has no flavor. I had almost zero problems in china nothing to get angry about nothing to worry about. The good thing about china is they don't bother me ask me for things, I am not afraid of them, they weigh like 100 pounds guys and girls, I feel like I could take at least 6 of them on if I had to, but I didn't have to because they mind their own business. So I felt they were very polite and respectful. A lot of cities are well developed like shenzhen, And dongguan where I meet a few other americans. I stayed with a guy named Jason who referred to himself as an ex-pax or is it ex-pat? Anyways it means he moved from America to live in china. He introduced me to his great fun friends, who played monopoly with me, When it was time to leave I did a news interview in china! And asked Jason to video tape me riding and then I said bye and started biking to Guangzhou, after 9 miles I got a flat tire, I wasn't mad, I expected it because I didn't have a spare tub or my bike pump. So anything that could go wrong will. I really didnt give it a second thought, I got off my bike and pushed it for 5 minutes till I seen this ghetto bike shop, they guy changed my tube charged me 6 bucks which I thought was expensive considering tubes cost 4$ in America and Most other places but Thats life right. I am now in Vietnam. I will write more about china later cause theys alot to cover ok bye for now.

wierd stalker guy named sidd from india

This weird perverted guy whos 31 from India, New delhi, keeps stalking me online tryin to be my friend on facebook and keeps sending me emails, So I am letting you know sidd you are weird, and ugly and you stink and I warn others do not try to be friendly to local indians who want to marry you for your american status. That is pretty gross I know. I was not looking for forward to biking the Himalayas after I seen them up close from a distance, I was really cold and still afraid to drink or eat and food or water from the local restaurants so I don't. I had already bike over 50 miles that day so I was very tired. My stomach was telling me to feed it so I go up to a man selling egg sandwiches off of a cart. He's old short and dirty, He's missing some teeth but he smiles at me, so I smile back. "I'll have one omelette please". He cracks two eggs put some red spice in it, some onions, salt, and some green leaf thing he mixes it in a dirty cup, I took complain cause what can he or I do I'm not in America. I find turning my back and not watching him cook help my mind. "Just don't look I tell myself". He poured it on a pan and pumped his gas stove and 4 minutes later it's done. It taste fine and it's really cheap less than 40 cents. I wash it down with this Indian soda made by coca-cola call thumbs up its pretty good. I know where I am going, So I keep going.

guest house

It's to cold to be in a tent, So I'll find a guest house, in poor country thats what you get for 8 dollars a night. In this guest house you have a bed, with a cover you take out of the room as soon as you see it, cause it reeks of cigarette smoke, and 100s of other people. You get a bathroom no hot water of course. Usually no free soap, no towel, and its allways freezing but outside there rats and mice and all other creepy crawlys so I'll take the guest house. In this guest house it all concrete no carpet and the electricty runs on a genarter so the lights often go out. I will carry my bike up 4 flights and back down for the gear. I will ask them to bring me a bucket of hot water and wait two hours for them to actually do it. I will try to find out the name of the city but will fail cause the say its a village so I assume I am still in katanmandu. Lately I stay up until the earlier hours looking up at the cracks in the ceiling, listening to the cars outside and the cats fighting, and the people yelling. It's cold. I wonder why anyone would want to come here or even live here. I lost some weight about 13 pounds so thats a good thing. Since I havent really had any conversations my mind wonders. It's cold and loney in this guest house. I dont have to plan my route so much because there is only one road. I need to change my tires. I need to buy winter clothing. The people stare at me like I'm a 5000$ steak, I pretend like their not there. I can't get into tibet just yet, you need to be with a tour guide to go into that part of china so I will see what I can do about that. The othe day some guy around 28 or so homeless guy to steal from me, will I was distracted he was immedatily caught and the police and a mob of people beat him up after a minute of allowing it I said thats enough thanks, but they ignored me and conitued beating him, I think they needed to vent some how. I will now get back to my guest house and sleep. goodnight.

still in india

quick update internet is hard and no wifi so no pics yet only on my facebook page, I am doing great I lost 12 pounds and have no more muscle left since lack of beef, cheese, dairy ect. I only have 20 min on the computer so this blog will be short sorry. things I notice in India every is dressed like there from the 70s, good food is rare, average life span for a man 55, India has 49 state and was working better under British rule they have improved since their independence. Little boys start working at 5 years old. I never see women outside its rare. They love my hair and America. They seem happy enough. They eat with their hands. They have an average of 7 kids a family and still believe in the cast system ( some Hindus in villages). Thumbs up a soda brand here is really good. I have mixed emotions about this country, that I will explain in my next blog. ok thanks for reading.

Youngest person to bike around world

So the video is Finally out it's kinda long which I dont like about 7 minutes!! This is I guess the half way point. And it's the longest I have travelled. Little by little I'm going crazy, My wrist is almost healed but It's pretty weak. Egypt sicked, I dont like arab countries at all, though the pyramids where kinda cool. The hardest part, is dealing with boredom. I don't worry about where I'm going to sleep anymore. I don't worry about getting lost. But it's getting more difficult to go from country to country. One way I have changed, my priorities are out of wack along with my up bringing. I don't really know what the point is anymore, just keeping going I guess.

Erins daily routine

Wake up, Brush teeth, brush hair, put on deodorant, Check email, pack things away, (Around 10 I wake up, By 11-1pm I'm biking. ) Check out of hostel, or say redundant goodbye to host, who want my face book and picture, and a 30 minute goodbye. Knowing full well most likely I wont facebook you, and you wont remember me down the road. So now I'm on the bike. For the first hour it's good sailing, singing to my ipod, listening to freakonomics radio, Think about the last day and the future days. Ok Now I'm lost, tired, or bored. I get off my bike think about taking a picture..Uh never mind takes to much effort to get the camera out. I look around, play with the grass, kick rocks look at my gps. Maybe by a coke and candy bar. Ok Erin You have to get going it already 3pm and you've only done 12 miles you have 30 more, + 10 for getting lost. "What are you staring at ?" The locals always look at me it's annoying. I try to keep an average speed of 11mph or 12mph. Check my tires they feel low, there not, It's all in my head. "SLOW DOWN" I yell at the cars." Get out of my way" I say to the animals." Where am I " I say to myself.

46% battery left on iphone ahh, switch the backlight all the way to low to conserve energy . Around 5, I'm think about the past, My friends, the family I use to have, I wonder how my little sisters are doing I hope there ok. I think about all the guys I fell in love with for a couple days then move on, it wasn't love anyways. I look for wifi check update my facebook.

Around 6pm or 7pm I'm done, where ever I'm at, It's shower, brush teeth, wash clothes, set alarm, check emails watch a movie. Read or learn about the country, dream of California. Of course this isn't everyday but a typical biking day. When Its not a biking day it's a prepare day, it's a text friends in Cali day, send post cards. Learn to drive a motorcycle, go swimming, visit a museum, Raise some cain with some strangers I met at a hostel. Argue America is the best, Can't tell me nothing. When I was younger my father would say Erin you are stubborn You are going to be the same person 10, 20, 30 years from now you will never change, He was trying to say it in a negative way, but it's true I am the same person everyday I don't change I'm going to take that as a compliment . I know what the good book preaches but I know how I am, I sure hope somebody up there understands.

For the most part it's interesting this tour I have some good stories only the patient will hear.

ps. Excuse the grammar.

Egypt

I have never been so thirsty has I am here, in Egypt. I left Isreal after paying so many leaving fees, then having to pay so many entering fees, into Egypt. My wrist is fractureafterIfeel off a steep cliff goin 40mph. So I am trying to do everything one handed . Everything is a desert, sandy, dry, hot, rocky. My tires need tobe changed, and my computer,is down for the count the fan inside it stopped working, so I need to send it back to america to be fixed , so it will take at least 2months beforeIhave it again which sucks sooo bad. I am use to things breaking now. Thebike crash Ihad a few days ago was really badit was the worst one in my life,, I hit my heasd on a rock, felloff acliff, rolled a few times, fractured mt wrist, woke up swallowing blood, some clothes where ripped, I was missing a shoe, and a bunch of palistine people staring at me.When they asked me where was i from, for some reason I said canada. A taxi driver stopped and helped me back from where I started, not to far away. No that I am in egypt that offically means I am africa!! The majority of egyptians are muslim, soright now during ramadam everyoneis fasting, except for me !! Here is a few interesting things, muslims marry there cousins, they dont use toilet paper, and they tattoe christians when they born so,they know who to harass. I am offically in a third world country . I havent seen the pryamaids yet, because everything closes at 3pm an doesnt reopen until the next day, muslims can't grasp the thought of seperate church and state, I mean obivously its not working for them all dominate muslim countrys are poor,or have some type of war going on. I am staying with a very loving muslim family though, they are great people. Egyptian food is good for the most part also, I haven't seen any other bikers though...Not one. Its funny to watch there arabic tv because the language sounds wierd and foreign, the actors are bad actors, and everything things seems like its attempting to copy form hollywood. All the men have 70s mustaches, and they prefer pepsi over coke. The honking never stops and neither do the cars they really dont care if they hit some one. I will be in egypt for 3 weeks beforeI head to india!!

Middle east

Biking in the summer is way better than biking in the winter. That statement has nothing to do with what I about to write I just wanted that to be known.
When I sat down in a seat there was a jewish boy(around age 12/13?)already sitting there, as soon as he seen me he got up to sit somewhere else, because jews are not allowed to sit, or talk to girls. When I think about that it doesn't upset me because he got up to move, not me. He didn't say you can't sit here I'm the man listen to me. He got up politely and left, I think to myself if he was muslim he would feel like he was better than me and tell me to move. The other day a muslim man snatched my american flag from my pack, I turned around asked" what the heck" grab my flag and socked him in the face, a jewish guys backed me up, the man shouted in arabic. From my dealings with muslim people, I find them more aggressive and crazier, and less tolerate than other religions. After being in a few muslim dominated countries, I think they like confrontation, and they don't want peace at all. I now don't think muslims are violent people, but the koran is the problem, and the people who believe in the koran and follow what it says those are the dangerous people. In the words of bill maher" The koran is a hate filled so=called holy book". I in Palestine right now during Ramadan where people can't eat during the day, I buy a hot dog go outside to eat but the owner tells me I have to eat inside because the muslims can't eat, until 9pm or after dark something like that!! I don't care if they see me eating, if they want to eat no ones stopping them except themselves, Not my problem I am not fasting, And I should have the freedom to eat where ever I like. But now I am staying with a nice christians arab guy , He reminds me Arab and muslims are two different things, I have to remember arabs can be good guys. I am heading south into the desert of Sinai, and then onto cairo, I'm dealing with the mosquitoes in the worst way, I'm itching as I talk, I bite from head to toes, these bites keep me up all night. I never used bug spray but I Need to invest in some adventure medical kit bug spray, washing clothes is getting harder, finding food is getting more difficult, but life goes on. Still getting more footage for the new video, coming soon!!

I am

I am not a tour cyclist, I am just on a bike traveling. I am not supporting an real or big cause, I am totally against rocking the boat, I don't want to protest anything, I don't want to be thought of as a hippie, or free wander, or tree hugger. I don't wear a helmet or bright neon tight bike shorts when I bike. I don't tolerate american bashing. I don't drink, or smoke , or go to clubs, I'm not a bar go-er either. I prefer coke over pepsi any day of the week, I think ford makes the best cars. I get excited when I think of doing something new, and then I will spend all day thinking about I will make it happen. Biking in straight flat lines is better than a beautiful hilly ride. I spend alot of time thinking about how I can ditch more bags and more gear, so I have less to carry, then I will throw something away and the figure out I should have kept it, only to now have to buy it again. I try not to take anything to serious, or anyone to serious. I get nervous when My day isn't planned. I get mad when there isn't a mcdonalds in big city's. I hate to have people talk bad about america. I don't think a boring life sounds to bad after all anymore:) There are many, many other blogs, and many many other biker, and travelers. I'm in bethlehem it's very very very boring here. It's Ramadan (muslim holiday) so there's no eating. I don't want to break my routine, I don't want to risk biking the desert, but I still do. I don't want to be alone. I am so far away. My leg muscle are very strong now, the rest of me needs to follow suit. I am a pretty uptight person, I freak out when I'm down to one extra tube. This blog isn't really to inform or anything, I just felt like writing. I out more pics on face book, if you are my friend you would see them. I wonder what everyones doing tonight?

Israel, what is a jew?

I arrived by plane from turkey to israel, I wasn't so keen on biking through syria to get here! I am in the middle east, Tel aviv. I will be biking to jerusalem tomorrow:) Looking forward to seeing the life of jesus where he grew up and saved the world. Israelis not israelites speak perfect english but also hebrew they are very smart people, and have the worlds nicest drivers. But also they are very paranoid people, When I came here I seen a teen girl carrying a m-16 she was in normal clothing she didn't look scary, she was talking on a cell ,chewing bubble gum, like a normal girly teen but carrying a m-16 !!on the same shoulder as her hand bag. But she wasn't the only one, before going into stores, museums, banks, buses, you name it, there is a man with a gun checking your bags, crowds of uniformed teen soldiers walk the streets for their mandatory 2-3 years of army service. Guns, GUNS, GUNS that is what every one seems to have here. My host told me a story of how 4 arab nations declared war on israel a few decades ago, and the jews had to fight them all off, all their neighbors except one hates them, and even within their own country not everyone follows the rules. When I asked a jewish friend I met here in tel aviv if he would like to go to Bethlehem , the city where jesus was born, with me, he said he couldn't. Why not I asked it is only 40 miles away? He told me it was Palestine territory and a mob of them would try to kill him if he went....Sucks for you I thought. Even though israel seems like a dangerous place, I feel safe and I like the jewish culture much more than the turkish muslim culture, The jews are very civilized and peace loving people who just want to be left alone. On the contrary to the one muslim country I went to where they seem to just want to conqueror the world with their beliefs, a call to pray at 4:46 am when I am trying to sleep is not very nice, but actually quite annoying. Even thought this is a jewish country the people don't practice or dress like I was expecting them to do, rarely do I see anyone in a kippa( or yamaka as the americas call it) . I learned that while in america if you say I am jewish it means you follow the jewish religion, If you say I am israeli it means your nationality is a person from israel, and jewish people are not hebrew but they speak hebrew. In the bible they where called hebrew and israelites. And though it is argued , being jewish is not a race, but here in israel they use jewish and israeli as the same meaning and, for the people who are jewish but not in a religious sense they say I am a secular jew. It's still all very confusing for me. Then it should also be noted the jews of the bible are not the jews of today, or most of the land, so while still being jewish they can trace the grandparents or even parents back to africa, or europe, or the middle east . So israel is filled with many jews from all parts of the world. I'm not sure if I got this all correct but from the best of my understanding this is what it means to be jewish. I haven't been here long but so far, tel aviv is a great city with a beautiful sea and clean, modern buildings and streets. Ok I will cut this short and say good bye for now.

Istanbul is not constantinople

I am planning on doing a video to describe my sum up of Europe and then a separate video, so I wont have to write so much right now. So this Ends leg 2 of my tour europe is over, I will be heading to Israel very soon!! So I little bit on Istanbul, this is not the capital in turkey by was once the capital of the odman empire. Turkey is the country separating europe from asia, I had to get a visa for this country . Turkey is filled with muslims, women over from head to toe in black sheets, in 105 degree weather, while they walk a careful pace behind their husbands. I eat turkish doners, and kebabs and there taffy like ice cream every chance I get. It is very hot so I avoid the day. I met the ausie guy john I was suppose to bike with here Istanbul, he is 21, biking back to australia, He's a quite guy more of an observer I would say, He is taking the Iran path so pray for him. But we been hanging out in Istanbul talking to all the random people who come up to us, trying to scam him, and the people that want to take a ride on my bike. I really like istanbul I really do, I am glad to be here , but I will be heading to another culture soon.

Please don't bite me!!!

Well I am in serbia which is very east europe a former part of the Yugoslavia, I am on a mission to turkey!! The roads are rougher but so am I, I was in romania a few days ago, Alot of the time people ask me if I am scared? and usually reply " Of what?" But of a few days ago I seen what I should be scared of and thats wild creatures! I've been chased by dogs before but I have never been scared of them biting me, but this time I was absolutely , terrified I was going to be seriously hurt, these were big white romania dogs that haven't eaten since world war two!! They were out to kill me. I was shaking so hard I was on a dirt/grass trail so I couldn't bike faster than 7 mph, I was in the country where no one but a farmer would go and worst no one could see or help me once I was left to die by the dogs, they barked and then ran and then they chased, Usually I would say good doggy dont bite me, dont bite me please, but This time My mine wouldn't tell my mouth what to say, My mined was saying ditch the bike and run into the canal, but I didn't want my stuff chewed up and I didnt want to jump into the bloody dirty, infested canal either, or get bit. I never been more scared in my life HONESTLY! So I did what any insane person would do I ditched the bike and said a pray held my breath and jumped in the grungy water. Those three dogs didn't think I had the guts to do it but I did. They respected me for that so they agreed not to eat my stuff but forbade me from coming to close to road I was suppose to be on. Moral of the story.....Learn how to swim.

Erin in Jail

So I pull up on my bike after doing 30 miles that day I had about 20 more to do no problem its straight it's faltts it a beutiful day, I have been picking cherries off the trees all day long. I just chugged a cherry coke I bought for an impressive 169 forints (less than a buck), I was listening to trace adkins, and There was no cars on the road, So I guess I would say it was a good day.

So I biked up to the border patrol of Hungary so I can leave the country, Smiled, the guy didn't smile back. He was short, brown, crappy uniform , he looked like he was from a 2/3 world country, well because he is. I handed him my passport, he looked at it, gave it to his co-worker, then he looked at it they examined it, and opened the gate for me to go through and handed me back my passport. And I was so stupid, this is probably the biggest mistake I have ever done in my life, I said "you didn't stamp it" and I gave it back. So now they looked at it some more and this time they didn't give it back.

After about half an hour we, moved inside, they ask to look in my stuff, so I let them. I wasn't scared but worried. Then I waited another hour before, And inturpeted came and told ,me I have two options 1, leave right then without my passport or, stay in jail in Hungary for up to two months waiting to be let go with my passport, needless to say I took the first option. So I went a few hundred miles out of my way to budapest payed 150usd for a new passport and wasted 10 days of my life. Short version. I am in Hungary still heading towards romania and I officially hate hungray, there is barely any wifi, People barely speak english, Some of them are racist, The roads are terrible nobody ever smiles here, it is a boring place basically. I am happy to be leaving soon. I wish I had company but thats life. I met some cool people and we visited some museums and seen a typical hungarian dance and eat the hungarian food. I want to go to india already and china, and America!! Any where but here. I went to a 3 day convention but I only went for 2 days. I am biking fine the days past fast when I am biking so I am not so bored then, but it's when I stop thats when the boredom kicks in. Ok I will stop writing for now, I will write soon!!

My thought on Venice

Well I'm not in venice anymore but, I didnt really write about it. There not much to do in Venice, but it is something to see. Venice it a tourist attraction usually attracting couples. It is A very old city, the building are very worn down and dirty and falling apart but in a strange way makes the city look beautiful and unique. I had a rough time the first day I got there considering the city has many bridges and canals(reminds me of amsterdam) which do not have ramps but are all steps, so every 2-5 minutes I was lugging my bike up a steep, bridge of steps. I couldn't lock my bike anywhere because I would never find it again. Venice is not only a very lovely city but it's also confusing seeing there is no clear way to find your way around, I mean your on a small island, how can you get lost? Well you can so I suggest you leave a small trail of bread crumbs to find your way back. Another thing That I loved about Venice was the gelato, GELATO, GELATO, GELATO! All kinds yogurt, Fragula, Berrie, Vanilla, Coconut, Chocolate. I eat maybe easily two-three a day. The down side about venice is it's a one day thing, because there is nothing like a land mark, or museum, or building that make venice famous, and since the city IS the attraction, it lacks a attention keeper. Another thing is like many tourist city'ies there are many illegals trying to sell you thing. In venice you have turkish people and people from ghana selling fake designer bags for 5 euros, or selling kid toys, and even the shirt off there back if you would want it. The problem I have with this is not that there selling, it's that they are soo desperate it is very sad and then the way the people treat them" get away from me" they would say. And mocking these hacklers and the tourist would think they are better than these people and forget, that there are no better than anyone. It was upsetting to see the africans and turkish mocked and looked down on for try to have a better life.
Besides from the dirty canals and buildings the people where quite friendly maybe it was most of italy that was friendly. I really enjoyed my ime in venice I stumbled upon a park hidden deep in the center of venice where a couple of boys where playing basketball and they invited me to play, which of course I did. The food in venice I can't describe, Lots of fish fill the air, hard bread and lots a wine. Considering I dont like the taste of alcohol , I only had a sip of what a friend told me was wine exclusive to venice. I will write more about italy after rome, since I will hopefully be in rome tomorrow ok bye for now

Italy

I'm leaving Italy soon. So here are my thoughts on italy, Small, roads, people. They open there shops at 9:30 and close at 12:30 and then re-open at 3:30 that really upsets me, Italians are lazy. They are bad drivers and always honk and yell. They are loud but semi-fun people. Italy is a rich country and have nice cars and clothes. I hate PASTA. I watched pirates of the Caribbean in Italian and had a translator during the movie . I liked the movie even if I didnt get to enjoy all the jokes. Before I left I dreamed about Europe and this trip, Now I dream about Asia and India and the rest of the world and home. Oh yeah I got to go sailing. And these are the alps of austria

Just something for now

I really need to start posting more here, sorry everyone, ok so I am in Italy it is sooooo hot I remember when it was sooooo cold. I'm still in germany making my way towards italy maybe not for sure though. I was in a german newspaper the other day, local news..I always start with so much to say but then I forget, Most people I meet are really nice, but I met a old german lady I think her name was something like...maya gretzler? something like that I think she could have been a Nazi in the past, So makes it the 4th Nazi I met/suspected in Germany. I'm stoked that spring is here, longer days, I'm getting bored or Germany though I ready for a change. I need something new, some thing fast and exciting. But when I'm biking there is a lot of reminiscing, I dont know no town like the old town, I've been through hundreds of small towns and big towns, but I still miss boring old turlock, My house, my neighborhood, My enemy's even. I remember me and my friends use to bike 10 miles to Delhi the next town over and we thought that was far ha, yeah. Now I do 50 miles a day easy. I don't know no friends like the old friends, I never seem to laugh now, like I did with them. I hear their voices even though their gone on it keeps me going on.
"Do you know which way were going Trey?"
" Uhmm were somewhere close to uhmm maybe koln"
"I don't think we'll make it there by dark. we have like at least 20 more miles" I said.
We'll we can always catch a train back to my house, and figure it out tomorrow" Trey said
It was maybe 6 o'clock already, I had riding company, A 21 German boy I met at a grocery store. Like it always goes, they see my bike and wanna talk for days, but that's ok with me this time, because, he seemed cool. He asked the same questions everyone ask me
Where are you going?
Where did you come from
Why are you doing this?
Are you alone?
How long?
, Then after answering I ask
How old are you?
Do you ride bikes?
Do you want to come?
" Do I want to come hah, I have work, I can't come" he said, Well it's Friday come for a few days then go home" I said this wasn't the first time I ask a complete stranger to bike with me, Some times When I see anyone biking my direction I try to pic up a conversation with them while where riding most people are only going a few miles."Do have some where to sleep tonight he asked, Yeah I do I said but I have no where to be". " Come with me to my house and I ride with you tomorrow until Monday I go back home". He had a really nice racing bike but it wasn't for carrying things so he didn't, He thought it would be a better idea if we took his car and biked some of it, but I thought it would be better to bike the whole way so he couldn't back out an drive instead. Trey was faster than me on a bike (but who isn't) we harldy biked and hour and a half before I decided I wanted to go look around the area we where biking through. It had lots of tree's like a forest, So we walked a while, hiked a little, then we sat and talked and eat lunch. We where following the river rhine, your not suppose to swim in a river but, there was a cool rope swing next to the bank, So we went for it it felt like flying, Besides it being to cold to go for a swim and getting late, We didn't care. The next day we had to make up for the lost miles we missed the day before. There was a team of bicyclers training so we rode and talked with them for a little while. Germans are pretty neat people. I can remember all the people I met on this trip, even the ones I asked for directions, I like to recall them all when I'm bored, but It seems so far away when I think back on it. I feel old or maybe just older, But I don't act older, I never want to act my age.
"Ok this is goodbye, thanks for riding with me" We where stopped at a red light. It was a nice day a sunday. It was raining earlier that day but now it was perfect, there were old people dresses in their sunday best, and shops closing early and me losing another friend.
" Yeah we'll keep it touch call any time" he said." I'm not going to call you it to expensive" I said so we exchanged email address like I've done a million times, most of the email address I get I don't keep, but I kept this one. To write about something means I won't forget it. I should write so I can remember, Story's I will never forget. Deep inside me I will never forget the fun people, the ones I was hoping to meet. Good people are not hard to find, good people you can be good friends with are. I see them smiling even though there gone.

yeah right

so i kinda gave up on this blog so im just updating because well ...why not, im in brussels came from england and paris, averaging about 5o miles a day which is good for me, i dont get off my bike to go uphill anymore not like i use to. But for the most part rudeness and snootiness and being up tight is part of their culture. But that doesn't mean I don't like these people it just means they don't have manners. I really really wanted to go to Scotland but that's not happening on this trip maybe another time in Life right? I will be biking to the end of England to France and up to Belgium YEAH. It's raining today so no touring right now, but will pick up again tomorrow. so THE USUAL NIGHT here in London is go to the pub for everyone else have a beer for me have a coke. The drinking age is 18 but not enforced. I've been sleeping late going to sleep late I need to fix that some how but not right now, I like sleeping in late lost my headphone need new one's that's on the top of my list of things to do. Good new is the Euro is Not as much as the pound the Euro Is a dollar and 40 cents, to one euro and the pound is a 1.60 to a pound still expensive but, hey I'll take what I can get right. The weight of all my stuff is getting to me I wish I could go with out all my gear. Oh yeah at the airport, I found my sleeping pad stolen. I was mad but hey at least it wasn't my tent. Another thing here in London every body's an atheist. Darwin is on their money along with the queen who the people say they can do without. But When I seen Darwin I was like wow they put up anyone who makes up story about where we came from on their money here ha. The English talk about things that aren't appropriate dinner conversation, Like politics, and there hate for the way we do things here. I can't help but have a appreciation for America. They don't even have a freedom of speech here law man! Ok I done with typing for now so bye for now.

London

Why does evertime I right a blog it wants to delete minutes of writing ahhh. Ok now I will do a short one sorry guys, but hard time getting to airport missed flight slept in airport uhmm I'm in london right, it's like 2 am in the morning. At a flat in London, heading up to scotland 6 days from now, sightseing tomorrow, As soon as I buy a cord for my camera I will put up picks, great weather here, it was sunny yesterday, and cloudy but nice, not to cold today, not new york weather for sure. Went to a pub today with some people. Eat Venice which is Deer. I really, really really like it here the people are nice but, some are snobby, Oh yeah I caught my firsst flat today I was mad, When it happen I said FINALLY, I was thinking something was wrong. I also got it by a car today a london car the guy didn't, top he hit me on the side with his cars side going 45mph, it bumoed me but I didn't fall because I hit aanother car, I was shoken up but I started riding, and met him at a stop light, I knocked his window, he rolled it down and I'm not sure what he said, but, I regret, strongly regret, not giving him the business, and calling him out, and yelling at him, I wish I would of, He didn't apologized, or even stop when he did it. I don't know why I didn't I wish I could go back in time and at least call him a name. HE COULD OF KILLED ME! My bike is big enough to know YOU CAN'T SQUEEZE though. Maybe it was holy spirit that stopped me, Because knows who I am and he knows how I am so he save my from a sin, I could have regreted. I wanted to key his car, or break his window, or curse him out, but I didn't I just said " You hit me".

Sights

I'm not much of a walker, but lately I enjoy a walk, I don't complain about the cold as much as I use to, there's no point ha ha. Lets see I went from Little rock, to Memphis to Birmingham, To Alanta, train to Washington Dc, Bike to Philly, train to new york. I know I said I was going to miami, but I really wanted to come to New york. Now I'm snowed in about 4ft of snow. I visted almost every tourist atraction here to see, spoke at another high school. I'm soo stoked to go to London! Even if the weather is going to kill me. There is always people walking up and down the streets in New york. Everyone is in a suit and/or pea coat. Visted the United Nations building the other day that was BORING. Haven't really met anyone to hang out here with like I have in other cities. Maybe it's because I dont want to go outside. I want a new camera, My pictures are gay, and not good enough for posting. On the good side thanks to recycle a bicycle for tuning up my bike. And thanks to rich conroy for the place to stay. Going to New Jersey on friday yeah!! to get a bike box, to take my bike on the plane leaving on the 1st. Have to take it apart stuff it in a brown box, carry that and my panniers and my sleeping bag, from new york, new york, to Newark New jersey. Ok heres a pic. Like their smarter than us, like they get it. Just the way they look,Stare at you, like ....I don't know like..They want to talk to you say something, but they don't...... Because their just stupid animals, who eat their own vomit and poop any where and everywhere. It's hard to not think about the future, and the past. Years ago there was this actress her name was Ratia Moreno probably the early or late 20's, she was pretty and very sought after, everyone knew her and wanted her to act in there movies. I bet at the time she felt invisible, everyone probably thought she would be written down in history. But nobody knows who she is today, and nobody cares, so does it really matter who she was, Did she spend her life looking, working for fame for in the same century know body knows who she is? How long will it take to forget about Hitler? Or Brad pitt? or even Jesus? Whats the purpose...Of being famous, or rich..Is there one? I think not. If or when I die nobody will anyone remember me, why would it bother me if no one did ? I would be dead I wouldn't know. It's one of those traps of the flesh I suppose. I feel limited in things I can do, and things I can know. I wish I knew what the angels know. I wish I could use 100 percent of my brain. Why? What is at the bottom, bottom of the ocean? What happen to the ark? What's outside our galaxy? How can I stop aging? Will I have friends when I'm old and cripple or will Jesus come back before then? I wish I could have all my questions answered. In a few short years this will all be a memory but, not my memory, or yours, only gods memory. Does he ever get bored?
I can't sleep lately, I haven't been able to sleep lately. Sleep use to be a get a Way, maybe it still is. It's always cold, I'm always lonely even around a million people. Yeah I meet people nut, it's never a real friendship. You know people should really stop saying how are you and it's nice to meet you. "Really was it REALLY nice to meet me"?, I didn't impact your life in anyway or anything. Those are words you should say to Jesus, or some one who made your life a lot better or happier. The people I meet are sometimes interesting, some or boring but none of them really affected my life in any real or fake way. I've been thinking a lot, about the past. I was home schooled for 7th and 8th grade against my will. I didn't want to be, because that meant No friends just myself. It was suppose to be a punishment by my mother. One day a few weeks before regular school started she approached me and said I earned my way to go back to regular school. I was really happy. The day before the round up photo, she gave me a shirt to wear. It was hideous very ugly, not my style it was a Mark eco shirt I believe it was black with a read sleeve that hung off the shoulder. I told her I didn't want to wear it, I wouldn't be caught dead in that shirt not on the first day of 7th grade! She told me wear it or I would be home schooled. I didn't wear it and I ended up at Denair charter academy. From that school I met a nice teacher name Susan whitecloud who help me developed alot of what I know. From that school I realized at the time I wanted college, to become a architect, and that was all that mattered in life was going to college. Over the years I loved being home schooled, I got straight A's, learned how to play guitar, and slept ed in all day, watched tv all day, and went out in service a few times a week. After my mother seen how I liked it she put me back in regular school to punish me ( that woman was always out to get me every chance she got) Instead of being put in 9th grade I was put in 11th. What if I decided to wear that shirt? Where would I be? You know how they say there's moment in our lives that define who we our, and the rest of our lives? That moment for me was it. I don't think I would be where I am to day if I didn't go to Denair charter Academy. I would be here in A new york apartment at Midnight, with snow on the ground listening to Alexandre Desplat playing a grand piano, Have awake, lightheaded, and anxious. I wouldn't be here. Where would I be.......Honestly I don't know and can't even guess. I'm happy I didn't wear that disgusting shirt. Tomorrows another day, and so is the next day and so was today. I'm only 18 ha Only the way I say it sounds like it's young like I have a lot of time. I don't know one does, yesterday I was 13yrs old reading A series of unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket in the living room back in Turlock on a rainy day, in front of the fire place, Moms at work dads, at the gym, Robin and Karin are in school, Jasmin is sitting on the couch eating candy she bought at pops, reading..I can't remember. The saying time fly's, yes, yes it does and it's scary. I notice the gray hairs, and I have no idea how they got there but, I will quickly pull them out as soon as I see them, it's not a joke anymore, I'm almost 19 this upcoming April soon to follow 21 and what's the point in counting after that. Short time, Just a little while longer, and I won't remember much of this moment or the next. But if I write, take a photo, or shoot A video of enough of it I can remember some of it right? Hopefully if can help jog my memory. This is my first time in New york I like it, This is my first time out of California actually, And I like it, but I do miss California not all of it but the memory's it was my home. It is my home.

On the Missippii

First Time Canoeing....More pics coming every other day leave a comment become a member. I met a girl from Florida, she said she was going to become a pro basketball player in Italy, we had a good conversation. Later I met a boy, 23, from Morocco he told me about his country, and islam, and His self. I told him about California, Jesus, and whatever else came to mind. I ditched a few pieces of gear like my two front bags, some clothes, and extra stuff. Have to be light as a feather. The better I get, the lighter I get. My bike is slowly falling apart, the handle bar tape is falling apart, the brakes aren't really working, the shifters have a mind of there own, but that's all to be expected right. I'm happy I'm doing this, I'm my own motivation most of the time because I'm the only one who gets what I'm doing and why I'm doing it, so I just keep reminding myself of it. I need to buy a plane ticket from New york to London soon, If you want to help me with the ticket email me at erinnelson92@yahoo.com, or just go to www.goadventure.webs.com and on the front page click the donations button for any amount. Worried about every single scenario that ran through my head a 1000 times over, and no matter what ,the past, the future comes, around to frighten me. Where am I going? they ask. I have no Idea, I have no Idea whats happening tommorow, or in the next hour. But at least I don't think about quitting anymore, it never cross's my mined. At least I changing, who knows if it's for the better or worst. The roads are nice and paved, I don't care anymore I riding in the whole right side of the road, who can eitherslow down or go around. I'm happy I have this oppruntity .I think I like what I'm doing. Today I meet a deer and it followed me for a few minutes before a car came and scared it off. I petted it suprised it didn't run away. I seen a hawk fly in the sky today soaring, looking for mice to eat probably, I met a local farmer with 3 kids, He told me about his farm, his work, his family, the harvest, pray for crops to grow this winter his name is Charles. Ok new years resolutions ha, I don't to tell another lie. But time is going by fast it was only earlier this year I decided to bike around the world, and now I'm doing it. Thanks To Collen brown from Michiagin for her support. Ok then bye for now, I making a new 3 min video of the tour, it's coming soon.

<img width='1' height='1'
